The FM newsreader putting the politicians and medical experts to shame

As we all know, it’s critical to get our COVID-19 information from the experts, rather than listen to the opinions of a random bloke from a “shock jock” FM radio station.

However, if that random bloke can do a better job than the politicians and medical experts at presenting the facts in a clear and concise way, then it is definitely worth a look.

The video below is a great example of cutting through the noise and using beautifully clear visual aids to communicate a complex topic very effectively.

I haven’t fact checked this video, and I think some of the graphs he presents possibly ignore the current 2-4 week lag time between COVID infections and deaths. However on the face of it, the rest of it looks to be pretty good.

So while I don’t recommend you make Brooklyn Ross from the Kyle and Jackie O Show your source of truth for COVID information, he has provided a beautiful case study on how to communicate clearly in a crisis.

I would love to see the politicians and chief medical officers take a leaf out Brooklyn’s book by producing material like this, over and above their daily media conferences.
